Weights for the Camden Handicap, for three-year-olds and upward, one and one-quarter miles, to be run Saturday. Cromwell, and the work appears to have been carefullv and thoughtfully done. In a word, it is a ,guod handicap and it is to be expected that at least J sjx of the twenty-one eligibles will go to the post. - In that event the race will have a gross value of S-.andIO, which includes the .VI. 000 added by Johuson X. Camden, master of Hartlaud Stud and a member of the Kentucky State Racing Commission. The silver trophy, valued at 50. which is given by the Kentucky Association in addition to the money prize, was made by Tiffany in New Vork, and is a beautiful cup. The Camden Handicap had its first running last year, when it was for three-year-olds exclusively, and was won by Doiiau, with Joe Morris second and ltool.i Boola third. Itain fell again today,- rendering the Kontuekv Association track exceedingly sloppy. Many horses worked through the slush, but there was nothing out of the ordinary in the performances. J. F. Newman wired that his good two-year-olds, Cnlisso aud Closer, are on the way here from Sweetwater, Tex. John McCaffery has been ill at the jBIioeiiix Hotel since Monday. He contracted nialariajfcaf Jacksonville, im Trainer Charles H. Hughes arrived - today from Louisville.
