The latter began slowly, but gained steadily and, finishing fast, almost got up to win. ACADEMIST was n forward contender all the way. TEE MAY stumbled and fell after they had gone a furlong. The latter came through fast on the inside and finished gamely. MAXENTIUS began slowly ami closed a big gap. DELIGHTFUL held a long lead to the stretch and tired as if short.
