TRAINING GALLOPS AT LOUISVILLE. Louisville, Ky.; April 29. Colston worked a mile and a quarter, the full route of the Derby, on a drying-out track at Churchill Downs this morning in 2:14S, pulling up. The fractionals were: 25, 37i, 511, 1:03, l:10J, 1:328, l:4GJ. 2:01. He finished Jreshly and appeared as if he had only been out for moderate exercise. Another Derby candidate, Colonel llogan, worked a mile and an eighth in 1:59, just before the track became heavy. The fractionals were: 124, 244, 27, 494, 1:03. 1:15, 1:14. His work was impressive. The only other Derby candidates to" gallop today were the California-owned colts, Tay Pay and Star ORyau. They worked together three-quarters in 1:23, cantering. Both look good. Other work-outs included: Alice Half mile in 53, cantering. Appears to be improving. Foliie Levy Throe-quarters In 1:22, cantering. At her best and looks extra well. Heine Five-eighths in 1:044. Looks good. Howdy Howdy Half mile in 53, cantering. Has his speed. Light Wool Half mile in 5S, cantering. Is ready. AIcAndrews Three-eighths in 37J. Seems fit. Melissa Quarter in 2S4. breezing. Is fit, but sore. Minco Jlinmic Half mile in 53. Has his speed. Mocklor Half mile in 5G4, easily. Has all his speed. Pinkola Three-eighths in 41, cantering. Never was better. Royal Report Seven-eighths in 1:87, breezing, liooks good. Sir Cleges Mile in 1:55. Looks good. Stare Three-quarters in 1:20, cantering. Strike Out Half mile in 5Cj, cantering. Is fit. Til ford Thomas Half mile in 55s, easily. Is fast. Uncle Jimmie Gray Five-eighths in 1:05, easily. First half mile in 51B. Is ready. A. L. Kirhy shipped Ills string of four horses to Lexington this afternoon. Ho took Uncle Jimmie Gray, Heine, Til ford Thomas and Minco Jimmie. His other horses, including Hughes, will remain here until he returns at the close of racing there. Lon Jones has eight horses now at the Downs. Winn lias decided on the colors of thfe card to be put on the new pari-mutuel machines designating the names of the horses in each race. He tried all colors and finally decided that green printed in black is best. These colors can be seen across the ring without difficulty.
