On drying tracks at Churchill Downs and Douglas Park many horses were worked this morning. None of the Derby Candidates did anything but slow cantering, as all have been worked more or less for speed during the last few days, but many two-year-olds and scores of older horses went along at a rapid gait. Ridge Farm, Va. The others of the Ryatr string are in good condition. The racing string of R. J. Mackenzie, twelve in number, arrived, from Jamestown in charge of "Canada Jack- Adkius. All are in good condition. A car of twelve horses arrived from Tampa. Included are the horses of A. D. Wprley. T. Smith. C. Baldwin and W. Farrow. Trainer Ceorge Land has given Will Lewis, trainer of Crystal .Maid and other horses, first call upon the services of jockey J. Deavenport during the Lexington meeting. Jockey E. Taplin, who came here with the Mackenzie stable, may go to Lexington to ride in the Dreeders Futurity. Trainer Fred Luzader has adopted the plan of driving Dr. Waldo Driggs to a cart in the hope of bringing that son of Sain back to the races. The horse seemingly likes his new task. Trainer John F. Schorr has two two-year-olds that are working unusually well at Douglas Park. One is a sister to Dr. Gardner and the other a brother to Lacy Crawford. J. T. Ireland has reserved stalls for ten horses at the Downs and will be here when the Lexiugton meeting is over with Cherryola, Marsaud. Dob Farley, Tommy Twig and several two-year-olds.
