ROGON was well ridden and kept in the best going all the way, gained steadily and held HELENE safe in the final drive. The latter, away poorly, closed a gap and finished fast. ZOOL ran well and finished gamely. THE FAD. set the pace to Hie stretch and quit in the last furlong. ILMA acted badly at the post and ran her race there. WAR JIG showed early speed. CATULA, away forwardly, disposed of BARETTE after going three furlongs and won under slight restraint. BARETTE set the early pace and stood the final drive gamely. CHRISTMAS DAISY ran forwardly and gamely all the way. SLIM PRINCESS was going fast at the end. SAICE finished well. SARAH CHENAULT fJiowcd early speed. RUTH JACKSON tired. MIRROR ran green. CRYSTAL MAID, running in her best form, wore GROVER HUGHES down in the final furlong, but was tiring slightly at the cud and just lasted long enough to win. GROVER HUGHES showed the most early speed and set the pace fast, then appeared done after going five furlongs, but came again near the end. WORTH, clear of interference, moved up into a good lead at once and easily held his advantage all the way. BUCKTHORN, possibly best, was in the deepest going, and suffered from interference on the first turn, but finished fast. PRAETORIAN, also a good colt, moved up with a rush froili a poor beginning.
