PREMIER began slowly and followed the leaders until straightened out in the homestretch, then closed up with a rush and won going awaj. GOLD CAP showed the most speed and set a fast pace for the first half, but quit when it came to a hard drive. CARDIFF finished fast and outgamed FORT WORTH in the final drive. The latter ran in close pursuit to the stretch and tired. IIANDRUNNING ran a good half. THRIFTY ran poorly. Overweights Con Came, 5 pounds; Racowell, 1; Western Belle. 3. The latter ran like a good colt and. finishing .resolutely, was wearing the winner down. CHERRY SEED was a close contender to the stretch turn and tired in th last furlong, but left the post stumbling and almost fell at the start. FITSII1UR closed a gap and finished fast.
