Alt!., Alay S. There was no glamor to the card offered at Pimiico this afternoon. The sibsence of the better class of horses was noticeable :unl this, coniiled with showery weather, tended to make the day an off one for racing. The attendance was excellent, however, and speculation was keen. The Merchants Selling Handicap and the Potomac Steeplechase were the features. William Walker furnished the winner in the former in .Servicence, while Dinna Ken scored another victory in the jumping nice. Dinna Ken is about as useful a jumper as lias been seen in a long time. He fainy Hies at his fences and has a keen turn of speed with it. In both of his starts here, lie has beaten the best cross-country horses racing just now and his victory this afternoon was so impressive that it was followed by several offers for the horse. William Lanahan, a well-known cross-country enthusiast, finally secured him at a cost of ,000. One of the conditions of the sale was that Ivan Fox was to retain half of the winnings of the horse during 1911. At a dispersal sale of the Whitney racers last summer Air. Fox secured Dinna Ken for 00. There were two races for two-year-olds and both of them furnished good contests. Wyandot won the lirst by three-ipiartcrs of a length from Walter SVott, while Overman, coming from behind in his race and finishing with splendid courage, just managed to get up in the closing stride to beat Yorkshire Boy a head on the post. John Whalen, who is handling the division of the stable that August Ilelmout is racing at Iinilico, lias shipped to Belmont Park the following: Pyramid, Lady Paramount, Culvert, Pecailillo and Sans Gene. Their places have been taken by a couple of two-year-olds and the three-year-olds Footprint and Whist, all of which arrived from Belmont Park this evening. They are eligibles for the Preakness Handicap and will be Air. Belmonts representatives in that stake.
