Louis Winans five-year-old gelding Edward, by Plaudit Passan. won the Alexandra Handicap of dOO sovereigns in a field of six at the Gatwick mooting in England Friday. P. Lcighton has been selected as presiding judge for the Couer d Alone Fair and Racing Associations fall meeting on its new track near Spokane with Frank St. I. Skinner as associate judge and handicapper. John Dinue timer and paddock judge and Phil Beilly clerk of the scales. W. G. Yanke. in speaking of Round the Worlds disappointing showing on the occasion of her recent start at Lexington, upon his- return to Louisville, is quoted as follows: "The filly had all the bad racing luck imaginable in her onlv start at Lexington. I am fully satisfied with her showing there under the circumstances. She will start in the Derby and I expect her to run one of her great races." The feature event at the Longchamps race course at Paris Sunday, the Prix Greffulhe Produce Stakes, worth 2.C00. was won by Frank ,T Goulds bay colt, Combourg. The distance was ten and one-half furlongs. Coinhourg recently won the Prix Noailies at Longchamps and the Prix Callistrate at Maisons-Latlitte. The Prix do Montretout. for three-year-olds, at one mile, value ,000, was won by AV. K. Aanderbilts Ilarnison. while Eugene FischolTs Tao finished second for the Prix de Sevres, a three-year-old event at a mile and an eighth.
