JOCKEY CLUB LICENSES GRANTED. New York, Alay S. At a recent meeting of the stewards of the Jockey Club, a letter was presented from Richard S. Hill, president of the Southern Alaryland Fair Association, asking if the Jockey Club would recognize a track three-quarters of a mile in circumference with a chute. The secretary was instructed to advise Air. Hill that the stewards could not depart from their established precedent of withholding recognition from tracks less than one mile in circumference. The .Maryland Jockey Clubs application for dates for its fall meeting at Pimiico, October 7 to October 2."! was approved. An application from John G. Dorsey for a trainers license was denied, as was the application of T. T. Cromwell, ruled off the turf, for reinstatement.
