RACING GOSSIP FROM THE EAST. New York, July 20. John E. Madden has shipped to Saratoga sixteen thoroughbreds that were quartered at the Kiravesend track for the past four mouths. All wore in strict training. There are thirteen two-year-olds and three three-year-olds in the string and all are lit and ready to race within it week. Several have shown half miles over the Gravesend track in as oood as forty-nine seconds. All through their training they have done their fast work in pairs and trios. "Frank Taylor, who has boon racing the II. C. llallenbcck horses, Fauntleroy, Adams Express, Housemaid and the crack two-year-old Worth, at the Kentucky tracks this spring, has returned to his Sheepshetd Bay home. His horses were shipped tOxSaraloga to await the pleasure of his employer. Jockey McCahey, who rode at Latonia and other Kentucky tracks, arrived at Gravesend looking and feeling well. He probably will ride at Fort Erie. P. J. Dwyer, Thomas Monahan and Andrew Miller are frequent visitors to the Gravesend track to look over the Monahan string. Textile has grown Into a splendid looking three-year-old.
