CAPTAIN MILLER, close up from the start, saved ground by a close turn and outgamed MIDSUMMER Jlially. MIDSUMMER set the pace and hung on well in the final drive. PETITE OISEAU was always a forward contender, hut went wide and lost ground by it. WABANAN finished well. AMARGOSA showed Fpi.cd, but tired. WILD BEAR off to good advantage, set the pace all the way and stood a hard final drive gamely. ELSEWHERE lignu slowly and was outrun early, but closed up steadily and, almost getting up to win, was probably best. ROYAL DOLLY finished fast. ENDYMION II. finished fast after closing a gap and would have won in another stride. JUDGE QUINN showed the most early speed, but tired and fell back when a furlong out, then closed up again.
