TORONTOS ATTRACTIVE PROGRAM. Toronto. Out., August 19. The program of events to be run during the autumn meeting of the Ontario Jockey Club is a remarkably attractive one for owners. A new feature is the Rothschild Cup, a beautiful challenge cup of the Georgian period, presented to the Ontario Jockey Club by Mr. Leopold de Rothschild, a breeder and an owner of note of race horses and a member of the Jockey Club in England since 1S01. To this cup the club has added the substantial sum of ,000. The conditions for this cup are an overnight handicap at one mile, for horses owned in Canada prior to September 1. The program of the meeting is limited to seven races dailv, with S39.6CK in added money, and provides, as usual, a splendid list of events to be run for during the seven days. In addition to the Rothschild Cup there are overnight handicaps of 00 and 00, with purses of 1911.sh00 and 00. The steeplechasing promises to be unusually attractive, for there are nine steeplechases announced, with the sum of ,300 added to these events.
