WALKER STABLE TO REST AT MONTREAL. Montreal, Que., August 23. Word was received at the ollice of the Montreal Jockey Club from Capt. P. JL Walker that he would come direct here from Hamilton. He has engaged his rider. Joe Byrne, to ride in the Kings Plate race at Blue Bonnets. The boy will arrive in -Montreal at the end of the week to remain until the opening of the Blue Bonnets meeting on Saturday, September 9. The horses in the Walker stable have been raced almost continuously since the first of the year, starting their campaign at Moncrief Park, Jacksonville. The Belmont horses will also bo shipped from Hamilton to Montreal. . They will leave Hamilton Wednesday night, arriving at Blue Bonnets Thursday. This is stated in a letter from trainer Whalen. Abe Garson and Ernest Ileider are others to ship direct to Blue Bonnets. The horses now stabled at the course are being given regular work. They are well advanced and will he ready to race when the meeting opens. Mrs. L. A. Livingstons Lovetie has improved greatly since coming here. He is being well drilled by trainer Feakes, who says he will have the horse ready for racing here. Sotemia and Picolata are others in the lot that are doing well. G. R. Tompkins has his string of jumpers, Bcllo, Jimmy Lane, Bigot. The Prophet and Sam Ball well up to racing condition. They are being worked regularly and have had plenty of schooling. John J. Hyland is going along with his string after a summer rest. Apache, one of thp most unlucky horses in training, has gotten over the ailment he had in the early spring and will be ready to race here. John Lowe now has the filly Delightful at Blue Bonnets, having purchased her from James McLaughlin. She is doing well in new hands and will be started here.
