THE MONK, a slow beginner, gained steadily and stood a long drive gamely. DUTCH ROCK closed a big gap and finished fast and close up. WIIIDDEN dwelt at the start and, refusing to run, the others were far away when lie made up his mind to go, then mowed the others down and won witli ease, running a remarkable race. EDWIN T. FRYER ran well, but his rider struck WIIIDDEN over the head witli his whip in the stretch and wa indefinitely suspended by the judges. SIR ANGUS set the early pace, but tired at a mile. AFTERMATH was not ready, but showed speed and so did NETTIE TRAVER. Overweights Aftermath, 1 pound: Nettle Traver, 1.
