NOTES OF THE TURF. The Jamestown grandstand, clubhouse, barns and track will receive a general overhauling next month. Martin Nathanson, who presided over - the summer meetings in Utah and Montana, has returned to his home in Chicago. He has no plans for the immediate future. It has been agreed that there shall be no votine on any question iu the New York legislature until next Wednesday. It is expected that the Gittius. bill will come up at that time.. American owned horses won two races at St. Ouen in France yesterday. Fugeue Fischofs Mimulus finished first in the Prix do La Camargue, and Mag 1., owned by Charles Pfizer, captured the Prix de La Provence. Twenty-two thousand paid tickets passed the gates of the Coeur dAIene race track during its first week, and Sheriff W. B. McFarlaud reports that not a single arrest was made during the week at the track. Perfect order prevails. Spokane Spokesman-Review. During the progress of the Interstate Fair at Spokane, the management will provide special train facilities for the transportation from Alan to the track of such horses as cannot be provided with accommodations at the Spokane course. These horses will be conveyed from Alan each morning and returned there after each days racing. Malcolm Stevenson has shipped Diana, Maple Leaf and Yama Christy to England. The trio will bo used for hunting. Yama Christy, now ten years old a son of Henuence Isaliell. is a horse of international fame. After several seasons cross-country racing in this country, lie was shipped to France by George A. Saportas three years ago. He was afterwards brought back to America and showed winning form In the colors of his present owner.
