LAUREL TRACK NEARING COMPLETION. Laurel, Mil., September 22. Horses have already commenced to arrive for the twenty-six days meet ing of the Maryland State Fair Association Incorporated, which will be held at Laurel commencing Monday, October 2, and continuing until October 31. Two carloads came from Toronto yesterday and another arrived this morning from Montreal. The new coiners are well pleased with the outlook, and state that others will follow them this week. There are now over four hundred stalls ready at the new plant, while others will be available at Benning until the opening here. Among the newcomers are Jule Garson and Abe Garsoii, who came direct here from Montreal. The string or Capt. P. M. Walker will arrive from the same point 011 Sunday. The two carloads from Toronto included twenty horses that recently have raced 011 the Canadian tracks. These cars included the horses of J. B. Bryan. J. O. Holder. W. C. Westmoreland and Ed Trotter. These horses are all In racing condition, t Additional stake entries were received today from distant points, making a total of 4S0, which means an average of forty-eight to eacli of the ten events scheduled to be decided during the twenty-six davs. The work on tha plant is progressing well. The grading has been completed and the railing of the inside of the track has been finished. The outer fence and wall will be put up this week, and that leaves little to do to the course proper. Work on the steeplechase course is going along rapidly. Several of the jumps are finished, and the course will be second to none for picturesque-ness. The water jump is directly in front of the grandstand.
