BREDWELL ran under restraint for the first three furlongs, then ran into the lead when called on and won in a canter. MERODE closed an early gap and ran gamely for the entire race. PATRUCHE was allowed to go wide throughout, but closed a big cap and finished witli a rush. JENNY GEUDES came from a long way back in the last quarter. FUMEUR set a fast pace to the stretch and quit. JIM BASEY set the early pace and suffered from interference by -KNIGHT DECK, but ished gamely. COUNTY TAX ran a good race and had to go wide most of the way. SILVER KNIGHT, a rank In and outer, was in his best running mood, and after running close up from the start came away in the stretch to win easing up. STARTLER also showed improved speed and, after setting the pace to the stretch, held THE HAGUE safe in the final drive. THE HAGUE tired badly after going well for a mile. EXILICIT had no mishaps. MERRY LAD ran well and took the lead oir the last turn, then tired in the final drive. FORCE was in close quarters most of the way. SAM BARBER closed a big gap and tired.
