DILATORY made up mound and finished gamely. PENDANT ran a good race for her. SALESIA showed speed, but tired lmdlv. LATWA lost much ground on the turns. HORRY BOYER was forced to go wide on the stretch turn, but made a game effort and might have been second but for iu-Hiference in the early running. CAMPEON rau well to the stretch and tired. MESSENGER BOY was hard held for the first three miles, then moved up steadily and, wearing NADZU down in the last half, drew away to win easing up. NADZU tired under his heavy impost, but was a forward !tiil game contender throughout and ran a good race. ROYAL REPORT soon ran into a good lead, but tired and was done for after going two miles. VENETA STROME began with a rush and, showing the most speed, held ROGON safe all the way. ROGON ran in closest pursuit, but his rider underestimated VENETA STROME and took matters too easy in the early running, then failed to get up in the stretch. McIVOR finished fast and gamely after having suffered from Interference. ROYAL CAPTIVE had no mishaps. COUNTY TAX had much the worst of the start. BOUNCER was practi-rallv left. It was too dark to distinguish the colors accurately on those back of the first two or perceive accidents that might have affected their running.
