STAKES FOR JUAREZ WINTER MEETING. Louisville, Ky., October 10. Just before leaving for Mexico City, where he will conduct a seventeen-days race meeting beginning October 20, M. J. Winn announced the stakes to le run during the 100 or more days racing that will begin on Thanksgiving Day, November 30, under the auspices of the Jockey Club Juarez, at Juarez. Mexico. He annouueed that six or more races will be run every day, with no purse of less than 00 in added money. The stake events all carry guaranteed values and are as follows: Ano Nuevo Handicap, one mile and an eighth, ,000. Chihuahua Handicap, one mile and an eighth, ,200. Navidad Handicap, one mile, ,200. Primavera Handicap, six furlongs, ,200. Dos Republicas Handicap, six furlongs. ,000. Chapultepoc Stakes, one mile and an eighth selling, ,000. Montezuma Stakes, one mile aud a sixteenth selling, ,000. El Paso Stakes, one mile soiling, ,000. Rio Grande Stakes, six furlongs selling. ,000. La Victoria Handicap, six furlongs, for two-year-olds at time of closing, ,000. With the exception of the last-named, all of the above stakes are for horses now two-year-olds and over. In addition to these events, stakes for two-, year-olds now yearlings, will be opened in December to be raced for after the beginning of January 1012. While the horses that will be shipped to Juarez before the opening day will number several hundred, Manager Winn states that horsemen need have no concern regarding accommodations, as ample stable room has been provided. Hotel accommodations in El Paso are likewise adequate. As Mexico is now enjoying a regime of peace, Manager Winn expects that the climate and thet attraction of superior winter racing will draw thousands of tourists to El Paso in search of pleasure and diversion.
