SCHREIBER SHIPMENT TO GERMANY. Lexington, Ky., October 2i. Barney Schreiber arrived hre today for a conferonce with Joint Maekey with reference to a shipment of fifty mares to Germany that Mr. Schreiber will make shortly. Mr. Mackey is just back from Germany, where he disposed of fifty-seven of James B. Haggius mares and weanlings from Elmendorf Farm for an average of and Mr. Schreibers visit to Kentucky is to get pointers. There is a possibility that Mr. Haggln will send a few mares along with the Schreiber consignment, a portion of which may be sold In Austria. That, however, depends upon the war situation. There lias lieen no definite announcement of Mr. Hastlns plans,, but It is reported that he Is figuring on sending the stallions Watercress, Water Boy, Star Ruby and Galveston and forty mares to France and there maintain his breeding establishment. The weanlings now at Elmendorf, about sixty, will probably be sent to England next month to bocomo acclimated before they are sold as yearlings next July. This will leave no thoroughbreds at Elmendorf. save the mares that have been mated with 8ulr stallions. Col. Alex Labolds yearling filly by Voter Chu lita, the latter a Cincinnati Trophy winner, worked a quarter in 23J seconds at the Kentucky Association track this morning. She went the first eighth in 12 and the next in Hi. It was one of the most Impressive moves ever seen over the local track. J. C. Milam Is training her.
