KING GEORGE AT NEWMARKET. King George V. was one of what was said to be the largest crowd ever seen on .Newmarket Heath, when Mr. C. E. Howards Willonyx won the Cesare witch Handicap, two miles and a quarter, with 131 pounds up. His majesty had no starter in the big race, but bis colt, Thrace, ran in the two-year-eld Plate that afternoon. Thrace finished fourth, the winner being the American-bred Sandrian, by Burgomaster Saudria. The King wore a grey lounge suit and a brown bowler hat, his tie representing his racing colors, purple and scarlet. His Majesty looked particularly well, and chatted with Lord Rtiseberry, Lord Derby, Mr. Henry Chaplin, and other personal friends, and took a keen interest in the racing. His Majesty stayed till after the last race, and then motored to Egerton House, where he had tea and inspected his own horses in training.
