YEARLING TRIALS AT LEXINGTON. Lexington, Ky., October 30. J. 0. Keene. J. W. May, Henry MeDaniel, W. J. Young, George M. Odom, Jack Adkins, Cliff Hammon, Jack .Baker and William Wallace were among the trainers who came from Latonia to spend Sunday In Lexington. It was a lino morning, and superintendent James P. Ross had the Kentucky Association course In prime condition. Trainer Keene worked his yearlings in quarter mile trials and they showed some shifty moves. Tho chestnut filly bv Marta Santa Aida Dunn, carrying 139 pounds, ran a quarter in 23s, and this was, weight and everything considered, the best work of the morning. The bay gelding by Mazagan The Mecca, and the chestnut gelding by Star Shoot Hindoo Kose, worked together in 23, but they were much more lightly weighted than was tho Marta Santa filly. The Sister Juliet gelding, the Amy J. gelding, the Nuns Cloth filly and tho Proud Daisy filly and the Mazagan Bewitcher filly worked in 23. Henry MeDaniel and J. W. May worked their yearlings slow quarters with an occasional eighth around 12. They will be ready for their try-out moves in about ten days or two wee"ks. J. W. May sold to W. G. J. Bissell the yearling filly by Russell Option. Colonel Alex. Labolds Voter Chulita filly worked a quarter in 221 this morning. Mode Nicoll left tonight for Spokane. He took no horses and will spend the winter on the Pacific Coast. Allen Steele is home from Laurel and praises tha track and its management.
