Trap Rock, Dragnet, Toastrack and Lucky Lass . have been shipped from Belmont Park to August Belmonts Nursery Stud in Kentucky. The first named went wrong after a series of successful races In Canada last summer aud all efforts to patch him up proved unavailing. J. E. Nash, who has handled the horses of the Brownleigh Park Stable for several years, visited Belmont Park Sunday to inspect some horses that he contemplates racing during the winter. Trainer Nash has been handling a few. horses at Laurel that will ie campaigned at Norfolk. The Prix de Vellzy, for two-year-olds, value , distance one mile, one and one-half furlongs, was won at Maisons-Lallitte In France, yesterday, by W. K- Vanderlillts Iowa. The same owners Montrose II. finished socoiid in the Prix Eclipse for two-year-olds, ,450, distance one mile. Tho .departure of S. C. Hildreth and his racehorses for a campaign in England is regretted by patrons of the turf in this country. Hildreth Is believed to be tho best trainer of thoroughbreds in the world. He has conducted his stable on a big scale and has won thousands of .dollars in stakes and purses on tho American and Canadian race tracks. Just how he will .succeed in England remains to be seen. It is said that he mny form a partnership with Louis Winaiis, the American who paid 5,000 to J. E. j Madden for Sir Martin and Edward and also bought j Dalmatian from Hildreth for 5,000 last year.
