EFFICIENCY followed close up behind CAMELLIA until straightened out in the homestretch, where she took an easy lead and drew away to win easing up. REPUBLICAN began slowly, but worked his way up on the outside and closed a big gap into a fast going second. CAMELLIA was very speedy and set a fast pace, but seems a non-stayer and tired in the final drive. ETON BLUE closed a big gap and so did AFFABLE. PECASTA quit badly. TRUE BLUE began slowly, but moved up with a rush on the outside when straightened out on the backstretch and, shaking off CHRYSEIS on the stretch turn, won easing up. CHRYSEIS, easily best of the others, ran a good race, but tired when the winner challenged. SURFEIT finished well under a drive through the last quarter after being cut off a couple of times in the early running. FIRBAL closed a big gap and finished close up. YORKSHIRE BOY finished gamely. BLACK CHIEF ran well and easily disposed of the tiring PAJAROITA for second place. The latter set the pace, but was much used in racing LUCILLE R. into defeat and tired when challenged. PLATE GLASS, under restraint, ran close up behind the leaders for the first half, then responded with a great burst of speed when called on and took a good lead, but tired and just lasted long enough to win. MARTIN W. LITTLETON steadily improved his position and. finishing fast and gamely, almost got utf. HILARIOUS is unruly and kept bearing over to the outside in the homestretch, but came again and made a n-s-olute finish. PRINCE AHMED began slowly and closed a big gap in the last quarter. BESOM set a verv fast pace, but tired in the stretch drive. The others were outpaced.
