m HILDRETH SELLS HIS HORSES. Charles Kohler Now Owner of Collection of Stars to Be Shipped Abroad Next Week. New York, November 1. One of the greatest private transactions in the history of racing was consummated yesterday when Charles Kohler purchased from S. C. Hildreth the thoroughbred horses litz Herbert. Novelty. Zeus. Shannon, Hampton Court, Itestigouche, Puggius and Gold It lade. The almvc-named horses, together with six others owned by Mr. Kohler, will be shipped on the Atlantic Trausport liner Minnehaha to England on November 11. Dinna Ken, a stake winner on the Hat. and a frequent winner of cross-country races, will be included in the shipment. He is intended for steeple-chasing in France, and will be handled by Fred P.nrlew, an American trainer. Charles Kohler. who races under the assumed name of the Itamapo Stock Farm, is the owner of one of the best appointed stock farms in New Jersey. At his establishment stands Uncle, which he purchased from Mr. Hildreth a year or two ago. His get v are now weanlings, and they are pronounced by competent horsemen to be of a particularly good type. The matrons domiciled on the Kohler estate- are selected mares, tracing to great racing and producing families. The eight horses Fold by Mr. Hildreth have distinguished themselves by winning the important fixtures of this country and in the Dominion of Canada. At the present time the collection is in superb health, and, despite reports to the contrary, Fitz Herberts legs and feet are as sound as the ilav he was Toaled. It is probable that Mr. Hildreth will handle the Kohler horses in England.
