Winner Ch. g, by Orlando Babbie trained by W. "M. Martin. Went to post at 2:0S. At post 1 minute. Start good. Won easily: second and third driving. JIV TELLOW, favored by the soft going, wore DR. BODINE down in the first three furlongs and, taking a good Iced in the stretch, won in a canter. PLAIN ANN was well up throughout and outstayed PORTARLINGTON for second place in the final drive. PORTARLINGTON suffered from Interference on the first turn and ran well, but tired near the end. NAN FERGUSON was off badly and closed a big gap in the la3t half. MANAGER MACK began slowly, but moved up steadily after going a half mile and, finishing with a rush, drew clear in the last furlong. COLONEL COOK suffered from interference in the first half and also finished fast. MERRY BEAU .showed the most speed for three-quarters and tired in the final drive. NICIAS closed a big gap; GEORGE OXNARD ran In closest pursuit to the stretch and tired badly. EL TORO appeared to be in a tangle all the way. Ovcrwelghts-ilahager Mack. CHERRYOLA, favored by the soft goiug, was saved in the early running, then wore the leaders down in the stretch and got up in the last two strides. .MERIDIAN was well up from the start and took the lead on the backstretch, but tired near the end. HIGH PRIVATE ran a good race and held on well in the closing drive. STAR CHARTER began slowly and. when going fastest In the stretch, suffered from interfer-vuce, which probably cost him the race. AMORET began slowly and was well back early but, making up ground steadily, came fast in the stretch and wore WINNING WIDOW down near the end. The latter was well up throughout and caused a bnd jam in the stretch when she swerved toward the Inner rail. UNION JACK ran well and probably was best, but was given a bad ride and suffered much from Interference near the end. JACK PARKER closed a gap and was going fast at the end. ROYAL CAPTIVE aud MERRICK had rough usage in the stretch. JOHN GRIFFIN II. quit after setting a fast pace to the stretch.
