ARRANGEMENTS FOR CUBAN SHIPMENTS. Norfolk, Va., November 2. Special arrangements have been made by H. D. Brown for the shipment of horses and horsemen from this country to Cuba for the winter meeting beginning December 14. Those racing here will ship direct from this port by steamer. The rates for the stable help will be 3 per man, while for cabin passengers it will be not more than 0. The boat that has been arranged for can carry two hundred horses on each trip. One boat will leave Norfolk November 23, and a ond one on December 2. Several stables of horses that were recently shipped from Laurel to Kentucky, arc owned by men who have numerous yearlings to pick up for the winters racing in Cuba. Included in the lot that shipped were the horses of Gallaher Bros., who have nineteen yearlings. J. W. Schorr was another to ship away. He will likely race a number of his horses at Havana and included In the lot will be a number of yearlings. J. L. Holland will be another who will have a big string of youngsters. James Rowe is another who will ship some yearlings to Cuba. II. D. Brown will leave for navana Friday night and will get the work well under way before he returns to Norfolk, where he will spend a couple of days previous to the closing of the stakes. The stake book is in the hands of the printers and will be ready for distribution within a few days. Charles Campau aud W. W. Lyles will represent H. D. Brown in Kentucky, looking after stake entries and accepting applications for stabling. Joseph McLennan and Harry White will look after the interests at Norfolk and Marlboro, while Manager Brown after a trip to Cuba, will visit both Norfolk and Latonia on his return.
