Won handily; second and .third driving, BRIG, away forwardly, ran close up from the start and, going into the lead at the half, easily outstayed MISS THORPE through the homestretch. MISS THORPE set the early pace and, after being passed lipid on resolutely in second place. ACGUIN closed a great gap and finished fast. GAGNANT also made up ground and had no mishaps. DORB1E tired in the last furlong. LUCKY WISH closed a big gap from a slow beginning. DIAMOND BUCKLE ran poorly and so did MARY EMILY. Overweights Clara Atkin, 4 pounds; Diamond Buckle. 5. COMPTON, favored by a clear course for the entire way, showed the most speed throughout and won easing up. JOHN FURLONG suffered- from Interference soon after the start and. again on the first .turn, 1iit closed an immense gap in the last half into a game second. PETER PENDER ran well and finished v.ilh a rush. LADY ORIMAR ran well. INDIAN MAID and TONY W. tired in the last quarter after running prominently to the stretch. Scratched 99154 Tom Hayward. 107. POLLY I, was a game and-fast going second all the way aiid finished fast. CLOUD .CHIEF, probably best, was away poorly -and, closing a gap, came fast at the end. CREME DE MEXTIIE also made up ground, but tired near the end. JOE DEIBOLD had a rough race. KNIGHTS DIFFER closed a big gap and tired. The latter, after closing a gap, was going fast at the finish and would have won in a few strides more. GROVER HUGHES only ran fairly well. BETTIE SUE showed the most early speed, but quit in the stretch. CARLTON G. ran poorly. PRINCE GAL was crowded back in the stretch when going fast. Scratched 9S563Adams Express. 113. MONTCLAIR ran fairly well, but tired in the stretch. HOWDY HOWDY showed speed, but quit. EFFENDI and HIGH RANGE were away poorly.
