S. C. HILDRETH OFF FOR ENGLAND. New York. November 2. S. C. Hildreth will continue to train the string of horses that he has just sold to Charles Kohler. Mr. Hildreth sailed yesterday for England on the Mauretania. accompanied by jockey Carroll H. Shilling. This will give him ample time to prepare quarters for the horses he will handle for Mr. Kohler, which are due to arrive in London November 21. Dave Lcary, who has been associated with Mr. Hildreth for several seasons, will have charge of the horses at Sheepshead Bay and supervise their shipment abroad. Fitz Herbert. Novelty, Zeus, Hampton Court and Puguins were nominated to various English stakes by cable yesterday. Sir. Hildreth said to a reporter just before his departure: "In going abroad. I am not going to give up my rights as an American citizen, but there is little use of my staying here now. The reason that I sold m horses to Mr. Kohler is that I had a good offer for them and did not see any immediate chance of racing being resumed in New York state. Mr. Kohler will race his horses in England next year, and in all probability I will be there for about a year. Just as soon as I hear of a better outlook for racing in this country I will come back."
