WOULD SELL TO FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. New York, December 3. James R. Kecne is negotiating witli the United States Government to sell his great band of thoroughbred stallions and broodmares. With the sale of his famous Castleton Farm In Kentucky, Mr. Keene has no home for bis horses. Knowing that the United States Government contemplates establishing a breeding farm in order to provide suitable mounts for the cavalry and artillery arms of the service, Mr. Keene is anxious to sell them to the government. Mr. Kcenos stallions that he wishes to dispose of Include Disguise, Voter, Peter Pan, Hippodrome, Den Brush, Kingston and Celt. The last-named is stationed at R. J. Hancocks Ellerslie Farm in Virginia. There are sixty-five broodmares. Resides these stallions and mares, there are forty weanlings. In case the United States Government does not purchase the mares and stallions they will be shipped next spring to England along with the weanlings, which will by that time have become yearlings. The stallions and mares will then join Colin, the undefeated race horse that Mr. Keene shipped to England two years ago.
