SILVERS CONSIGNMENT LEAVES NEW YORK. New York, December IS. Another consignment of American thoroughbreds left New York Saturday for South America on the steamship Prince Eitel. There arc nineteen in the lot and they were purchased at the recent Kentucky sales by M. A. Silvcrs.a former American, jockey who has for several years been identified with racing in South America. Mr. Silvers makes annual purchases for the South American market, some being made on Ills own account and others for the Lima Jockey Club and for individuals. In the lot that sailed Saturday, those consigned to the Lima Jockey Club are the following yearlings: Bay filly, by Knight Errant Marie Francis. Bay lilly, by Samson Darna. Bay filly, by Filigrane Fon Mate. Bay filly, by Peep oDay Lady Mercury. Baj filly, by Singleton Jarto. Bay or brown filly, by Griffon Old Pal. Brown filly, by Yorkshire Lad Fleda B. Chestnut filly, by Planudes Mrs. Malaprop. . Chestnut filly, by Orimar Miss Rose. For his own account Mr. Silvers is taking the following broodmares: Artation, mated with Stalwart and brown colt foal by Marta Santa. Cherubim, mated with Ornament. Heatherdown, mated with Fair Play. Lucky Piece, mated with Stalwart.. Miss Dolly, mated with Stalwart. Passion Flower, mated with Stalwart. The Jockey Club purchases will be delivered at Callao and Mr. Silvers will journey on to Valparaiso and Santiago with his own mares. He has been extremely successful with all of his previous purchases, and largely through his efforts Peru now has more tbau 100 American mares, all imported within the past few years.
