SUIT AGAINST RAILROAD ON TRIAL. Lexington, Ky., December 18. Trial of the suit of Catesby Woodford and John T. Ireland for 5,-250 damages against the Louisville and Nashville railroad was begun In the Fayette Circuit Court today. The plaintiffs shipped seven thoroughbred yearlings from Lexington, November 17, 1910, billing them to Juarez, Mex. At Frankfort the car caught lire from a lantern that was jostled off its hook in the roof. The brother of Cherryola. by Star Shoot Last Cherry, valued in the petition at ,000; the colt by Star Shoot Blue Danube, valued at ,500, and the filly by Miller Lady Beth, valued at ,500, were so badly burned that they had to be killed. The Star Shoot Amy Davenport colt, valued at ,500. the Jack Point Lady Vincent colt, ,500; the .Miller Ladv Premier iilly, ,250, and the Ethelbert Miss Wicks filly, ,000, were saved, but they were Injured for racing, according to the allegation in the petition. About fifteen breeders and. trainers are to testify as to the value of the yearlings at the time of the accident.
