. i , 1 ; CREDITABLE RECORD OF H. C. HALLENBECKS STABLE With the brilliant two-year-old, Worth, figuring as the chief ornament and wimier of his stable, H. C. Hallenlxjek had no reason to regret embarking in racing. His was a measure of success rarely awarded to a newcomer to the turf. Aside from the achievements of Worth, Mr. Hallenbecks three-year-olds, Adams Express, Stinger and Housemaid placed striking displays of great speed to the credit of his stable, and Iiiuntleroy. while not at his best this year, more than paid his training expenses. The acquisition of the excellent, "lilly, Azyiade. late in the year was a transaction adding greatly to the prospects of the stable in the racing of 1112. The only stroke of ill fortune falling to Mr. Hallenbeck in the course of the year was the destruction of Stinger and Herkimer after the racing season was over. Botli were horses of great speed and their loss was a severe one. But even so, the stable is well fortified for the future and if no other misfortune comes should be distinguished next year.
