POTTER STRING TO RACE AT CHARLESTON. New York, December SO. R. II. McCarter Potter, owner of the Pequest Stud, will race three horses at the meeting of the Charleston Fair and Racing Association, whicli commences January 10. The horses have lieon shipped from Kentucky to the South Carolina track. Frank E. Gardner, who handled horses that carried the red and white silks to many a victory, will train this set during the winter months. The names and breeding of the horses follow: Flotsam, blk. c, 2, by Buck Massie Castana, by Uneas. Kind Sir, b. c,2, by Flambeau Flora Dora, by Meddler. Lazuli, yearling ch. f, by Knight of the Thistle The Lady in Blue, by Himyar. John II. Morris, the veteran horseman, broke and trained the colts and filly at Lexington. He was pleased with the trials shown and is sanguine that Mr. Potters colors will play an important part at the Charlestou meeting.
