BELMONT PARK NOT FOR SALE. New lork, January 10. — A part of the property controlled by the Westchester Racing Association was recently placed on the market. This led to a rumor In some quarters that Belmont Park was for sale. Investigation proves the report to be entirely misleading, Che facts are that the territory owned by tbe association covers 850 acres, partly in Queens and partly in Nassau counties. On the Belmont Park side of the Hempstead Turnpike it extends to the Mineola road dear to Floral Park. At the Belmont Park Terminal, where tbe races under the sanction of the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association are Ii Id, a considerable portion of tbe property is unused fol racing. The laud lying beyond both race courses has increased in value to a considerable extent in recent years— hence the announcement to dispose of it.
