HORSES AT WORK AT LOUISVILLE Weather Conditions Improve and Fast Work Is Looked for During the Coming Week Louisville Ky August 10 The weather having settled today considerable work was done by thu horses at Douglas Park and Churchill Downs Both tracks however were a trifle slow The Ivcst quar ¬ ter reeled oft was in L5 seconds and halves wen done in 4 From now on there will fast trials to chronicle from each course as the majority of th horses are ready George M Oilom returned from Lexington where he went in search of yearlings He was unable to get any voungsters that suited him He ascertained that J K Madden had bought all the Star Shoot yearlings owned by Col K F Clay and Catesbv Uoodford with the exception of a colt and lilly that Colonel Woodford sold to T C Milam Mr Madden got eleven Star Shoot year ¬ lings from Colonel Woodford and seven from Colonel Clay The Woodford yearlings that will go to Can ¬ ada to be sold the last of this month are chielly the tt of Miller Mr Odom secured at Lexington from O W Moore the twoyearold colt White Heather Ho could not buy the colt outright from Mr Moore hut lie leased the running qualities of the son of MeGee White Heather will arrive at tho Downs to join the Odom stable tomorrow Mr Odom is pleased witli the present condition of Follie Levv and thinks he will get her to the races again this fall Her right front knee still shows considerable swelling and this will he the last sea ¬ son thit an attempt will be made to nice the noted mare Mr Odom has about concluded to sell her to the Virginia breeder R T Hancock at the clo e of this season and take her value in future year ¬ lings lingsF F T Pons made a Dying trip hero today to ar ¬ range for the shipment of the stable he now has in Canada to Douglas Park at the close of the next Windsor meeting on September 2 Mr Pons lias six youngsters at Douglas 1ark 1arkShelby Shelby West has ten horses in the stable of L P Doerhoefer at the Downs All are training promisingly and looking well They Include Mary Davis Danger Mark Ursula Emma Tillies Night ¬ mare Jimmio Jill Senator James Jack Kills In dianola Gold of Ophir and Baron de Kalb Mary Davis never has appeared to better advantage and Danger Mark is working well lie has shown no signs of lameness since trainer West had him nerved nervedBelow Below will be found the list of yearling trainer Peter Coyne has taken up for George J Long Bay colt by Semproniiis Bashful Bello bay colt by Sempronius Levia bay colt by Sir Hiion Flor ¬ ida chestnut iolt by Sir Hiion Watoma chestnut filly by Alvescot Bonnie Kate bay illy by Sir Iluon Espinata bay filly bv Sir Hnon Reia bay tilly by Sir Hiion Variora Mr Long still h s eleven yearlings at Bashford Manor Farm which will be taken u later in tho season Some of the latter will bo sold
