TRAINING AT BLUE BONNETS Montreal Que August 10 Within the past week things have taken on an siir of decided activity at Bine Bonnets The trainers in charge of eligibles for the Kings Plnle and the Provincial Nursery are hustling their charges along The majority of them are now almost in racing condition and will onlv need light work from now on There are about fifty horses at the course at present including a number of outsideowned horses These include the string of steeplechasers owned by G 11 Tomp kins who for the past few seasons has sum ¬ mered his horses at Blue Bonnets The steeplechase course and the track were never in better condi ¬ tion the latter being demonstrated by the creditable time of the twoyearolds bred in the province These youngsters are working three furlongs and half miles faster than in previous years yearsThe The stables will begin to ship to Montreal at the conclusion of the Hamilton meeting which comes to an end next Saturday word having already been received from several owners that their horses would come here to rest for the autumn meeting The enclosure never looked better than at present and as there are over COO stalls all comers will be taken care of by tho management of the Mon ¬ treal Jockey Club There will be seven races eacli day during the meeting with no purse of less value than 500 These with the stakes and overnight handicaps will make the meeting highly attractive to all owners ownersA A fine lot of yearlings are being broken at the course Capt W F Presgrave lias nine in his stable These sire all the property of local owners and are eligible for the Provincial Nursery Stakes next fall and thii Kings Plate the following year This crop was produced by the mares purchased locally within the past two years Many yearlings have already been registered with the Jockey Club and there are several yet to be accounted for
