HILLCREST MEETING AT AN END. Toronto, Ont.. October 7. Racing closed in eastern Canada for this year at Hillcrest Park today. A big crowd turned out for the farewell and there was brisk speculation on all eight races. The dangerous eastern bend was safely passed bv everv starter today. Lenshens Pride was tlie only favorite to score. Mother, the heavily hacked favorite of the third race, wheeled at the harrier and did not break at all. The layers got a hump, when Sweet Owen, backed from 3 to 1 to 3 to 2. won the seventh, and there was plenty of support for Ynca. winner of the fifth. Jockey A. Ferguson who was injured yesterdav. will be in the hospital, for several weeks with his damaged head. Some of the horses here will be shipped to Laurel, Latonia and Churchill Downs tomorrow.
