ALL GOLD RACES POOBLY H. P. WHITNEYS ENGLISH HORSE MAKES DISAPPOINTING AMERICAN DEBUT. Climbs, Sulks and Finishes Last in Handicap at Laurel for Which He Rules Overwhelming Favorite at Short Odds. Harry Payne Whitneys widely heralded All Gold, an imported horse by Persimmon, one of the late Kins Edwards winners or the Epsom Derby, made his American debut in the all aged handicap at Laurel this afternoon and ran so disappointingly that trainers agreed that he is a much overrated horse. At any rale. All Colds showing today did not warrant the many good things that have been said alioui him. In a field of six All Cold was made a top-heavv choice, but when it came to racing, horses ordinarily looked niton as mediocre ran away from him. True, All Cold did not appear to be up to a bruising race. He was high in llesh and in the race he climbed during the first part and after he had settled down he sulked under urging. Ambrose went to the whip on the turn for home in an elTort to rouse his mount, but All Cold pinned back his ears and, quittiug utterly, finished last. II. C. llallcubecks Impression was the winner of the race. He took the lead at the start and remained in front all the way.
