PREPARING FOR PIPING ROCK RACING. New York. October 9. That the racing to be held under the auspices of the Piping Rock Racing Association the next two Saturdays will prove highly interesting is assured by the manner in which owners of prominent stables arc having their horses worked on the Hat and over the jumps aV Delmout Park each morning. The big race course is the training ground for practically all of the horses that will carry colors at Piiing Rock next Saturday and the Saturday following. The track proper, the scjiooling grounds and the Delmout Park Terminal course have been kept in splendid condition for horses in training for events to be decided on the Long Island amateur courses this autumn, Among the Harbor Hill Steeplechase candidates getting final gallops are the following: 1 S. P. Randolphs Repentant, Miss Chamblets Hiindsallround. C. R. Fleischinanns Astute, Silas Veitchs Fashion Wing. Greentrce Stables Dallct, Joseph E. Davis Anrific. Brother Folk and Humility, Jericho Stables War Lord, T. J. Donohues Sand Hog. Drownleigh Park Stables Tom Horn, M. Legraws Syosset and John Whalons Orowoc. James Johnston has arrived from Toronto with Syosset and Nancy Onne, a two-year-old eligible to the subscription races. Trainer Johnston was accompanied by Frank Adams, one of the best riders developed in recent years. Adams will have the mount on Nancy Orme. Syosset, a son of Mi-grane, ran several promising races in Canada. Charlie Grand, who rode through the steeplechase Held and on the Hat one day last summer, will ride Syosset. Silas Veitch will saddle Astute, Fashion Wing and Orowoc. Needless to say, this successful horseman has his charges ready for their best effort. Among the trainers now quartered at the Delmont Park course are: Silas Veitch, handling horses for Charles R. Floischmann, John Whalen and other owners; Charles T. Patterson, trainer for Alex Smith Cochran; Louis Feustel. training a big string for August Delmont; James Owens, preparing .steeplechasers .for the Green-tree Stable Mrs. Payne Whitney: J. K. Nash, in charge of the Drownleigh Park Stable; James John-Eton, for Charles L. Appleton and M. Lcgraw; William II. Henry, trainer for Bayard Tuckerinan, Henry W. Warner and others; John L. Coyle, handling Miss Chamblets cross-country horses; Matt Brady, with the timber-toppers owned by Joseph E. Davis; W. Freeman, the Jericho Stable; Jacob Dyer, P. S. P. Randolph; Tim Douohue and A. D. Davidson.
