WILL STICK TO B00HMAKING FOR PRESENT. Ottawa, Out., October 25. The adjourned annual meeting of the Coimaught Park Jockey Club took place this week. The re-election of officers was the chief item of business and resulted in the unanimous return of all of last years management. The re-jiorts showed the club to have made an auspicious beginning and that a handsome surplus remained after the naynient of a heavy bill of expenses. The jockey club Is already a huge success, financially as well as otherwise, and within a year or two handsome dividends will be payable on the investment. Hal 15. McGlverin was unanimously re-elected president after a vote of thanks had becu passed for his untiring efforts in the interests of the club. The vice-presidents are Hon. N. A. Belcourt, Stewart McLepagban and F. V. Carling. F.dward S. Houston is Hon. Treasurer and Charles A. Irvln Hon. Secretary. Lieut. -Col. J. W. Woods Is chairman of the finance committee, and James IC. Paisley chairman of the construction committee. The chairman of the publicity committee is L. X. Bate. One new director was added to the list namely, W. F. Powell. The appointment of Albert Rohrback as general manager was confirmed, while 11. McK. Hutchinson was re-elected secretary. The board of directors and advisory board will be the same as last year. The epicstion of introducing pari-mutuel machines mid alxdlshing the bookmakers in the betting ring was left in the hands of a sub-committee of the management. The matter Is still under discussion, and while it is certain that the parl-mutuels will eventually succeed the "layers" at Connaught, as at Woodbine. Blue Bonnets, "Dorval and elsewhere, it is doubtful if the change will be made, next year. It Is probable that two or three will be installed for experimental purposes in 1914, and that the bookmakers will be banished as soon as the public has become accustomed to the operations of the French lietting system.
