B. Respess has engaged stall room at Charleston are yearlings, and have been broken. The pick of his yearlings will winter in Kentucky. The stewards at Laurel listened to the appeal of jockey Musgrave, who was suspended recently for the rest of tin. ineetlng for his ride on Frederick L., but whatever he had to say had no effect on the ruling. It was announced to the horsemen at Laurel a dav or two ago by Matt J. Alexander Smith Cochran, who bought His Majesty and other horses this season as the nucleus of a racing establishment, has given a prominent eastern designer an order to build for him a yacht to defend the America cup. This will entail an enormous expenditure. Lawrence and Comstock have been endeavoring to lispose or their yearlings, as well as all the breeding slock now at their farm at Lincoln, Cal., Including the successful sire Salvation. It is understood that they have set a price and that a deal for the stud is now pending. If the deal is made, the mares Involved In the transfer, as well as Salvation, will be transferred to Kentucky at an early date.
