NO CURTAILMENT AT HURRICANA. New York. October 21. John Sanfords French stud, to which he recently shipped several broodmares M and the stallion Voter. Is In close proximity to the w stock farms of 11. B. Duryea and George Jay Gould, both of whom are enthusiastic breeders of thoroughbreds. The lieculiur rules governing racing in France make it necessary for a horse to be foaled In that country to be eligible for tlie stake races; and tliis fact probably more than any other condition bas led to the establishment of so many APerican breeding farms in that land. Mr. Sanford has no idea of giving up tlie breeding of horses, in this country. Far from it, in fact, the Hurricana Stock F.tnn at Amsterdam, N. Y., will be conducted as heretofore, and a large string of broodmares and stallions will uphold the prestige of the Sanford name and fame. The Hurricana Stock Farm has been Inseparably identified witli racing in this country for a score of years. The place was founded by the late Hen. Stephen Sanford, and was one of his most cherished projects.
