K. G. MARTIN IH TROUBLE INCONSISTENT RACING OF JOHN REARDON BRINGS SUSPENSION FOR HIS OWNER. Stewards at Laurel Refer Case to Jockey Club After Taking Preliminary Action Laurel Track Again in Good Condition. Baltimore, lid., October SO. The running of John Reardon, which won the selling handicap this afternoon at l-nuitl, was not satisfactory to the stewards, and after the races the horse was turned over to the veterinarian of the track, who reiorted that there was no evidence that he had been drugged. The stewards suspended It. G. .Martin, owner of the horse, and his trainer, J. S. Merchant, and referred the case to the Jockey Club. John Heardous performance was in startling contrast to his preceding race, in which lie ran unplaced. It is true the going was different, but it was generally supposed that track conditions when lie last started were to John Reaidons liking. Today, John Keardon was in the front flight all tne way and came home easily iu advance of much better company. Jotelus took the two-year-old handicap comfortably. The Oklahoma youngster suoiildcrcd top weight of 124 pounds and, after waiting on the leaders to the turn for home, went around the others and woa by half a length. Gotelus conceded all the way from 10 tiouiids that he was giving to Hoamer, to 29 pounds that he gave to Water Lady. One of tin? largest crowds oi the meeting turned out and the track was in good condition for the first time in more than a week. Between the first and second races there was a parade of the prize winners in the fair exhibition. Fine draught horses and blooded cattle vied with each other for honors and the exhibition was much enjoyed. After Monmouth had been beaten iu the fourth race yesterday, he was claimed from Roxie Anga-rola tor 1913.sh00 by W. B. Carson. The horses of Capt. E. B. Cassatt, with the exception of Flying Fairy, were shipped to limlico this afternoon. The lilly was kept here by trainer J. S. Hcalv to run in the American Grand National Handicap tomorrow. After the running of that race she will make the trip to the Maryland Jockey Club course in an anto van., ....ts. These two, with Lady Irnia and Fond Heart, will be shipped west within a few days. The lifteen yearlings at the farm will be shipped from Oklahoma to Charleston November 5. Of this lot, fourteen are the get of Martinet, while the other is by John F. Oehre Court, which had leeu turned out at I-rank Frlsbies Maryland farm, has been taken up and put into training again. -A. J. Ford has shipped his horses to Laurel from Kenning and, with the horses of J. Randoph and others, they will begin the long journey to Juarez Saturday. . , ,, M.
