ALL READY FOR PIMLICO OPENING. Baltimore, Md., October 30. Preparations for the approaching meeting of the Maryland Jockey Club, lo be held from November 1 to 12 inclusive, have been concluded and the meeting, which is the last one of the season in this locality, promises to- be highly successful. Every stall at Pimlico has been engaged and the overflow will be accommodated at various stables in the vicinity. The first race each day will start at 2 p. m. and there will be a steeplechase daily in addition to the events on the fiat. The principal .stake events to be decided are the Walden, for two-year-ods, ,000 added, one mile, and the- .Bowie Handicap, for three-year-olds and upwards. ,500 udded, two miles. The best two-year-olds of the sea-son are named for the Walden, and they are asked to go further than in any stake of the season, which should furnish a good test of their merits. Among the improvements noted at the course is the replacing of the water jump at the old location in front of the grandstand, from whence a fine view of tlits spectacular leap can be seen. The track-was kept in good condition all summer by superintendent Brenuan. In order to facilitate the shipment of horses from Laurel. Secretary W. P. Riggs lias made special arrangements with the express companies, so that consignments will be landed promptly within a short distauce of Pimlico.
