JOCKEY CONTEST IS CLOSE : BUXTON AND BURLINGAME TIED FOR SADDLE HONORS OF THE YEAR. Each Has Ridden 118 of His Mounts to Victory and Premiership of 1913 Probably Will Go to One or Other of Them. It now seems certain that either Burlingame or Buxton will head the American jockey list for 1913. It has been a close race all season for the honor of heading the list, with some half dozen riders appearing to have a chance to carry off the coveted distinction during most of the year. Finally Burlingame and Buxton have drawn away from the others and the beginning of this week finds the two lMiys named figuring in a tie at the head of the list. Both are now riding in the east Willi success and the struggle between the two for the premiership will be an interesting feature of the year-end.
