Injury Makes His Reappearance and Finishes Second After Braving Poor Racing Luck More Horses Arrive at Mexican Course. El Paso, Tex., December 4. ;old of Ophir, from the Kentucky stable of Doerhoefer and West, won the three-quarter mile handicap In a game manner at Juarez this afternoon. She was the favorite in the betting. The little mare made all of her own pace and gamely stood off her opposition at the finish. Injury, a good handicap horse, starting for the first time, had the second call in the betting and finished second. He met with several mishaps during the race, being on the rail in close quarters aud Loftus was forced to take him up several times. He evidently was not up to a bruising race as he was inclined to bear out badly in the final part. Little Slarchmont was the longest priced horse to score, 8 to 1 being laid against his cliances, and he defeated a fair band of platers at one mile quite easily. Horses are still arriving daily. Two carloads reached here yesterday from Los Angeles. They have been racing on the Inter-SIountain and British Columbia circuit. Among the lot are Edniond Adams, Colinet, Burnt Candle, Crex and others. A carload is expected to arrive tonight from Jamestown. In this shipment are the horses of .1. .Johnston, II. Neustadter and J. L. Whitehill. Jockey A. Neylon won a diamond horseshoe scarf pin presented by a local jeweler for winning the most races during the opening week.
