GIPSY LOVE, close up from the start, moved into the lead when turning for home and had to be hand ridden out at the finish, but won comfortably. ADA KENNEDAY ran well, but barely managed to outstay THEODORITA for second place. The latter was shut off on the far turn and finished with a rush, then her saddle slipped, unseating her rider after the finish. The others were beaten otf at the end. IDA LAVINIA quit badly. LOFTY HEYWOOD closed a gap early and made a threatening challenge in the stretch, but tired in the last few strides. QUICK TRIP closed up- much ground and finished with a rush. JOE AVOODS finished well. JANUS tired after being a forward contender to the stretch. EMERALD GEM raced under restraint and lapped on MANGANESE until an eighth out. then took the lead and won hard held. MANGANESE set a fast pace and ran a good race. PAAV was under the whip throughout the stretch and appeared to be sluggish and not responding with his usual game-ness. SIR HARRY ran fairly well. INJURY was in close quarters early next to the rail and was forced to fall back at the half, then came wide, but fast, through the final eighth. SIR FRETFUL ran a good race and finished fast and close up next to the rail. VESTED RIGHTS was a forward contender all the way, but was tiring at the finish. HENRY WALBANK quit in the stretch drive.
