NOTES OF THE TURF. W. T. Anderson has fourteen horses in winter quarters at the Gravesend track. Announcement has been made that E. R. Thomas, who raced a big stable on American tracks some years ago, is preparing to race extensively in France. It is reported that Jefferson Livingston has some idea of converting Iron Mask into a jumper after this season. Iron Slasks final work in preparation for his record-breaking race of Sunday at Juarez was three-quarters in 1:11. Sonoma, a bay mare, arrived recently in San Francisco, from Honolulu and will be shipped to Jnarez to try her speed against the thoroughbreds racing there. She is owned by I. ORourke, and defeated everything in the Hawaiian Islands.
