BANJO JIM, away forward;-, was saved under restraint until rounding into the stretch, where he moved up and, saving ground, took the lead in the last eighth and held CALLER OU safe through the last sixteenth. CALLER OU set the early pace and turned wide into the stretch, then finished well. PEACOCK tired and barely lasted long enough to hold third place safe. BELLE OF NORMANDY raced well up most of the way and finished gamely. MIKE COHEN ran fairly well. SQUEELER quit badly after racing into the lead on the last turn. The latter ran a good race and but for being in the worst going most of the way would have won. PATTY REGAN raced well and, after losing much ground when turning into the stretch, finished fast. TOM HOLLAND had no mishaps. TOMBOY tired bad.y after taking a long lead and setting the pace to the last turn. Scratched 12922AVillis, 112. LORD WELLS dropped back on the lower turn, but came again in the stretch. CUTTYHUXK ran moderately well. HARCOURT sulked all the way. The winner, entered for 00. was bid up to 00 and sold to E. T.
